This page informs you about all the ins and outs of the wonderful sims Catronian Archipelago. The start of your exploration is Port Hope. Battle ships, tavern, theatre and a shop with themed clothes and ships for sale. This is the place to be for the booze, the gossip and setting sail to the other islands. Strangers can have a house for their own ( free, 500 prims) to start their adventure with a real home in town. Want to be a resident Port Hope: use the contact button in the menu.

Activities on the sims

You can sail the historical ships .

They are having a touch of realism in navigation and gunning. You can navigate with compass and fire the guns and sink other ships. To be an able seafarer you need to learn the ships habits , the wind, and knowledge of the seas and its obstacles. On the docks all information is provided to make the first steps and sail your own battle ship.

You can participate in battles with other players.

Every week a group of devoted sailors, pirates, smugglers and navy, gather at the docks and set sail. Mostly the navy hunts pirates and smugglers ships to get their tax and show the strength of the Celyddon Navy. Pirates and smugglers are tough fighters too and will defend their ships and gold coins! Many ships sink in those battles, last standing captain is winner, representing the group.

You can enjoy meeting other residents and music events.

Catronia has visitors on regular base, especially during the sailing battles. Once in a while people gather in Port Hope's theatre to enjoy Melanie Auxifur's music events.

Roleplaying:

Be a pirate, smuggler, Navy officer, fisherman, or landlubber. Whatever whats on your mind is possible as long as it fits in late 18 century's Northern Europe.

How do I learn to sail?

To get an impression of how the ships work you can watch video tutorials and manuals online. There are two systems ( different scripted ships) offered: those you see at the docks are Kayaker Magic scripted ships : here is the link for explanation of navigation tools. Kayaker Magic ships tutorial The other category ( mostly used in the battles and the events ) are called SPD scripted ships: watch the next video for sailing tutorial. It's great fun to participate, you will find out the captains are good sports and have wonderful sense of humor!

What groups are playing on Catronian Archipelago?

There are two groups playing: Port Celyddon's navy with the Commander Ballyrae Hanly, countess Menanie Auxifur, and their skilled knight and captain Till Uhlenspiegel and some other sailors who also use their land cannons to defend their base. Second group is the Catronian pirates and smugglers, based on different islands with their main smugglers island RavenSteyn in the north of the world. Miss Cata Raven and Miss Trouble Ahead are the troublemakers and suspected from thievery and robbery and most of all smuggling. Furthermore there is captain One Andonly, stating he is a simple fisherman....... Other captains join the pirates and smuggler occasionally to join the fun. If you like roleplaying , join the groups!

Catronian Archipelago is a moderate world: adult activities in the open, extreme violence, grieving, racism and doing political statements will lead to bans.

St Patricks day party

Friday evenings race was again spectacular. New captains joined and won the race with remarkable speed ( did we hear a steam engine?) Nevertheless, all captains had fun ( Okwaho was making a fire in his RL garden and forgot to join, ship stayed at the start, then he started the race later on ). Afterwards there was a great St Patrick's day party with DJ Melanie Auxifur and many guests. Irish music, folk music, and of course the Alestorm tunes about rum and pirates! The waitresses have been very busy serving Guinness!

Connected worlds!!

Catronian Archipelago has a new tourist shop in Port Hope, where sailors can teleport to sims where seas are open for rezzing ships for sailing.

Gemstone hunt event

At landing point there is a door that gives a TP to the gemstone " riddle stone hunt " Give it a try, you will find many gemstones at the island and one of them is called " riddle stone". Who is able to solve the riddle, will be a candidate to win the new edition of VOC Batavia SPD galleon thats been finished recently and now is tested for release.

New Event ! Catronian sailing race!

Another Friday's event, the Catronian sailing race . All captains need to sail Statenjacht SPD or the Smuggler. Other ships not allowed. Gathering at start line, all ships line up. Collision off. On the route the captains will see huge balloons floating with the race numbers, so no one will lose track! Shooting at ships is allowed. Those who lose track are disqualified. All captains will also receive a HUD with the map. It's very recommendable to sail the route a couple of times as preperation to find the best places to tack! Yes , there are some narrow turns you might need to kedge too.. sorry :)
